Did you know that 30% of all searches include a city or local term, and even if the searcher doesn’t include the local data it is included automatically by the IP address of the person searching? You may or may not have noticed different search results for the same terms when in a different location. This means that every search for every term will have the local companies that have figured out how to get listed in all of the local directories. so let’s make sure that for all of the keywords that you want to show up for you’ll be showing up in your local area as the desired choice. If nobody can find you they can’t buy from you.

Making sure you are in front of the search will bring more traffic to your site. The strategy should be to use the tactics that are the most effective in bringing people to your site. The simplest of tactics is local search. It involves some obvious techniques such as Google Maps, as well as keyword mapping. Some not so obvious methods might include the proper keyword “tagging” and descriptions of videos that are an important part of any search strategy. Google purchased You Tube in 2006 for $1.6 Billion and is now the 3rd most searched site. This is only one reason Video is a powerful component to any search strategy.  Directory submissions should also be included as part of this  effective strategy.
